So wait, let me guess: she had a loose thread sticking out of her collar and he gallantly offered to remove it. Or: a mosquito landed on the back of her neck and he wanted to quietly snap it away before it bit her. In both cases, he overshot the mark, and in both cases, it remains unclear why he didn't just use his fingers.
